Celebrities Congratulate Mehwish Hayat On Well-Deserved Civil Award!

This Pakistan Day, the President of Pakistan, will confer Civil Awards on many civilians including the talented Mehwish Hayat who will receive the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz for her services to the entertainment industry. However, trolls on Social Media seem to have lost it as if they were robbed of an award that should have been conferred on them.

First of all, we should know what Tamgha-i-Imtiaz stands for and who can qualify for it. Tamgha-i-Imtiaz is the Medal of Excellency and it is the fourth highest decoration that is awarded to any civilian in Pakistan, based on their accomplishments. It is solely a civilian award but it is also given to the military personnel and foreigners. In the past, it has been given to Atif Aslam, Saba Qamar, Hadiqa Kiani etc.

As soon as the list was revealed, the social media police started trolling Mehwish Hayat. Their main concern was that she didn’t deserve the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz as she is ‘in their mind’ not that big an actress. However, legendary film actor Shaan Shahid congratulated the actress for such an honor and after that many celebrities took to Social Media to bash the criticism that has no foundation in the first place.

Her Jawani Phir Nahi Ani co-star Ahmed Ali Butt was one of the first people to congratulate Mehwish on her achievement.

Her most frequent collaborator Humayun Saeed also congratulated his Dil Lagi, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani and Punjab Nahi Jaungi leading actress and praised her immensely.

Her buddy Azfar Rehman also shared his views on trolling and supported Mehwish Hayat.

Osman Khalid Butt also congratulated Mehwish and motivated her with his Tweet.

Her Actor In Law and Load Wedding ‘hero’ Fahad Mustafa also wished Mehwish all the best for the future.

Popular actress Armeena Khan tweeted in support of Mehwish Hayat and announced that she was standing with her without prejudice.

Another popular actress Ushna Shah tweeted that Mehwish deserved the Civil Award and the people who are trolling her are the ones who are jealous of her success.

One of the winners of the same award Hadiqa Kiani also took to Social Media to congratulate Mehwish Hayat.

I received my Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2006. It was an incredible moment for me, I remember feeling so overwhelmed – my country, my Pakistan, had recognized my love for it. I have continued to work in Pakistan and FOR Pakistan despite the criticism and sexist/aegist rhetoric against me but it seems every year our country gets more and more hateful and less understanding? I cannot imagine being honored with the highest civilian award in the time of social media – the scrutiny, the cyber bullying, it’s just awful. Why can’t we steer clear of spreading hate, we’re all guilty of being judgmental at times but why spread hate when you can spread love and tolerance and appreciation for your fellow countrymen. Appreciate the good work our people are involved in and encourage the good work, look past the hate. Build a more united country 🙏🏼

Yes! Mehwish Hayat you deserve the medal and we all stand with you. Way to go Mehwish!
