Idris Elba is reportedly in talks with Warner Bros to join the Suicide Squad 2 by replacing Will Smith as a ‘Deadshot’. Variety reported that Will Smith couldn’t be a part of ‘The Suicide Squad 2’ because of his scheduling conflicts and that’s why Idris Elba is going to take his place.

It was further reported that Idris Elba met with the director and writer of the film James Gunn before agreeing to do the role. It is said that Idris Elba was the first and foremost choice of the makers for the ‘Deadshot’ character after Will Smith.

The studio is said to be excited about the Gunn’s script; the film went into the casting phase much sooner than anticipated. The film will not be an immediate continuation from the first part and if reports are to be believed, Gunn would use other DC characters besides Deadshot and Harley Quinn.

A few days back it was reported that the Margot Robbie’s character ‘Harley Quinn’ will be the part of the second film that would be written and directed by James Gunn who had previously helmed Guardians Of The Galaxy franchise.
