Ever since the BJP went on an aggressive election campaign by choosing Narendra Modi as their face back in June 2013 and winning the General Elections, India has emerged as one of the stupidest nations in the world. First, for electing Modi who was dubbed as ‘Butcher of Gujarat’ as he was allegedly involved in the massacre of Muslims during the riots that erupted back in 2002 in which more than 2,000 Muslims were estimated to be killed.
Following the Gujarat riots and Modi’s hate speeches specifically against Muslims and Pakistan, he shot to fame and his popularity rose among the middle & high-income bracket. On the international front, he was banned from most of the civilized world for his shameful human rights record but India went on the elect him anyway, showing the intent and belief of a nation.
Modi went on to run his campaign and his subsequent office based on conspiracy theories in general and on hate, accusations and slander against Muslims and Pakistan in particular and the Indian nation continued to applaud this man as the great rising phoenix. From accusing Pakistan of various attacks on India to the ludicrous notion of the so-called ‘surgical strikes’ against Pakistan; claims that the whole world not only refuted, Modi, became a matter of an international laughing stock.
To top it all, a new controversy is making headlines and giving laughter cramps to some and anger related hypertension to others. At the 106th Annual Meeting of the prestigious Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) some far right so-called Indian scientists made ludicrous claims that have made them and their country a laughing stock. One of the claims made by Prof Nageswara Rao, Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University stated that according to Mahabharata, a single mother gave birth to scores of sons using test tube technology. He went on to say, “The Mahabharata says 100 eggs were fertilized and put into 100 earthen pots”. He insisted that stem cell research was there in India thousands of years ago.
According to Professor, the Hindu god Ram used guided missiles that could find, chase and return after destroying their target. Also demon god Ravana operated 24 different kinds of aircraft from several airports.Another scientist Kannan Krishnan from Tamil Nadu challenging Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity and Newton’s Theory of Gravity went on to say that neither understood the concept of basic physics and in the future, the Gravitational Waves would be renamed after the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The scientific fraternity of India is furious by such ludicrousness and the international media can’t stop their fits of laughter.
The other day, US President Donald Trump went on to mock the Indian Prime Minister Modi on the library Indians made in Afghanistan “And he (Modi) tells me. He is very smart. We are supposed to say, oh thank you for the library. Don’t know who’s using it (the library) in Afghanistan. But it’s one of those things. I don’t like being taken advantage of.”
In this day and age with such kind of rants, the sane elements in India need to think what kind mockery their leaders and more shockingly their educated elite are making of their country. If they want to stop this from happening in the future, they must go out and vote for sanity, and not for Modi!
