PSL 4: Shane Watson, Hasan Ali Among Top Performers

Now that the league matches of Pakistan Super League’s fourth edition are over, let’s take a look at the top performers of the tournament. Who has scored the most number of runs, who has the most wickets to his name, and who have been the best fielders both behind the stumps as well as in the outfield, scroll down to know more about these PSL 4 successes:

Former Australian all-rounder and Quetta Gladiators batsman Shane Watson tops the batting list with 352 runs at the strike rate of nearly 141 and has crossed 50 three times during his 10 innings. Karachi Kings’ Colin Ingram managed 321 runs in as many innings with the help of one century and one half-century at the strike rate of 166.32. Islamabad United’s Luke Ronchi is at third spot with 297 runs at a strike rate of 113.56 with three fifties, followed closely by Karachi Kings’ Babar Azam (293 runs) and Liam Livingstone (291 runs) who crossed 50 runs three times each. At the end of the tournament, the batsman with most runs will be awarded the Golden Bat memento and the competition is stiff amongst the Top 5.

As for the bowlers, Peshawar Zalmi’s Hasan Ali stands at number one, with 21 wickets in 10 matches, with as many as three four-wicket hauls, compared to second-placed Faheem Ashraf’s one four-wicket haul, and one six wicket-haul. The all-rounder has 19 wickets to his name including the best figures in PSL history so far, 6/19 against Lahore Qalandars. Quetta Gladiators’ Sohail Tanvir has 15 wickets in 10 matches and he is followed by Karachi Kings’ emerging Umer Khan and Peshawar Zalmi’s Wahab Riaz who have 13, 13 wickets each after 10 matches.

The best wicket-keeper of the tournament so far has been Kamran Akmal who has taken as many as 8 dismissals in 10 matches and he is closely followed by Islamabad United’s Luke Ronchi and Quetta Gladiator’s Sarfaraz Ahmed who have 7, 7 dismissals each.

As for the best fielders of the event, Karachi Kings’ Colin Ingram, Quetta Gladiators’ Mohammad Nawaz, and Peshawar Zalmi’s Kevin Pollard, all have held onto 6 catches each and like their batting, bowling and wicket-keeping colleagues, they will be looking to better their performances so they end up as the best, amongst the rest.
